Pre-Copy shop fun.

Double checking all of my stuff before I head to the copy shop.

I am having one of those moments where your look over everything you’ve drawn in the last 8 months and then you just start re-hearing all of the podcasts and albums and radio stations that where playing when you drew those pages.

I would be ready to go if InDesign wasn’t doing shit that makes no sense. Since the same method of assembling covers works fine on my partner in comic’s computer;But it keeps registering these two pages as two separate spreads in spite of everything.

Also this font keep glitching? Can a font even glitch? I mean it’s linked to this file fine. But it disappears when it’s saved as a PDF.

It could be worse, but also it could be better?

At least it was caught early.

EDIT: Ah!!! Finally. Crisis averted. Software, I hate you and your sneaky sneak solutions.

EDIT: I hate this program so much. So much troubleshooting and no great solutions.

This is old, like from January old.

But today is the day I print the zine it is collected in and proceed to staple forever.

It’s going to be great.

I have been working non-stop on zines and the new installment after TW 02 Pt. 1 is up in addition to the freelance I do. This is why you’ve been getting a dearth of lame preview images. I guess this one is a preview image too since it’s a teaser from the book ^^;.

Solved the writing issues by breaking up the current storyline into smaller chunks.

So this is now Turnip Warrior:Cave of Internal Detours Part 1.

This should finished up in about two weeks.

Then I’m going to upload an unrelated comics while I smooth out Part 2.

You know the deal by this point. Right?

The design still needs some tweaking but it’s there and functional.

I feel so cheap uploading mostly not art to the Art Tumblr these days.

I am making this announcement both early and publicly though so there is no excuse for it not to be a high priority. I’m in the process of making a comicpress site to upload the comics to so they can be properly archived and easy to navigate through. Unfortunately this might cause to a further delay on the Turnip Warrior updates.

But, I think in the long run it’s better for readers.I love Tumblr for sharing things but the archiving is a pretty “meh” (for comics at least). My current method of archiving the comics through the sidebar looks pretty crazy on both the mobile layout and the app.

I’m aiming for this to be live by the first weekend of June though, if not earlier. Stay tuned for updates. This should be the last of posts with words for a little while though.

While proper polished work is on the back burner you can expect more sketch dumps.

Hey, can anybody out there with Manga Studio 5 tell me how the license works? How many computers can I put it on? I want to download a copy from their site with my dollars but I can’t find this info.

I know generally with most software you get 3. I just wanna definitely know before hand tho.

Turnip Warrior Mini-Hiatus

Currently, I have several weeks worth of buffer for Turnip Warrior done.

However, this scene in it’s current state I don’t feel tells the story well. So I would like to improve the 4 or so pages that follow this one.

Generally, I favor the mind set of not being too precious and getting on with it as best I can. (I mean, it’s not exactly as though I’ve reached my ten-thousandth bad drawing yet.) But I feel as though this will be a benefit to the audience.

At this moment I am in the middle of putting together a zine and also have to balance things I do for money as well. The zine pages should be finished by mid May. So I’m going to estimate that Turnip Warrior will return to updates in June.

There should still be updates of pictures, etc. on this blog. So it’s not like it will be totally dead here. Just lacking this particular comic.

I’m prepping to print a comic zine. I have a singular blank page that needs stuff on it.

If you want to promote your comic, vegan goods, band…vegan band, etc. Get in touch with me.

I can fit one 6x4 in. ad or three 2x4 in. banner style ads. 300 DPI, Black and White, no weird copyright violating stuff.

The deadline is May 4th.
